DLF was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Laren, a quaint village near Amsterdam.

Raised in a long lineage of successful Dutch growers, our head grower has over 30 years experience developing and managing high-yield, high-tech greenhouses and operating in challenging environments – including operating one of the most advanced farms in the world in the middle of a desert. He has worked across the EMEA region and China, and has previously designed, owned and operated 100’s of hectares of greenhouse operations in East Africa producing top-quality horticultural crops for export and local markets. He will join the team full time when construction of the first facility commences and currently plays a critical role in the design of our farms.

Friso has extensive experience developing real estate, renewables, and infrastructure projects in Europe and East Africa, and has founded multiple successful companies. His last African venture was the Mandharini resort in Kilifi, a high-end luxury development consisting of 21 villas with a lavish clubhouse, with its own water treatment system and 1MW substation. Most recently he was active in the development of large-scale on- and off-shore wind parks and floating solar farms in the Netherlands, responsible for the successful development and financing of 100’s of MW of renewable generation capacity. Friso is responsible for our project development activities.
